This session is open to all, whether new or experienced with CSW. It is a space for learning about the contributions of MenEngage Alliance at CSW from previous years (and how we can build on them at this year’s session). It is a space to come together as a community to shape our approaches, strategies, and goals for supporting progressive outcomes at CSW this year. That includes discussing how we can respond to rising anti-feminist backlash at the UN itself.

The session will aim to collectively explore a range of topics, including:
Our political commitment at CSW67
Politicising our work to transform patriarchal masculinities
Feminist systems change
Accountable advocacy
Analysis of CSW as a policy space for women’s rights and its historical context
Trends at the UN, including rising anti-feminist backlash
Civil society at the UN: challenges and opportunities
Link between backlash we witness in geopolitics and UN spaces
CSW advocacy cascading into subregional advocacy
Backlash from national to international - similarities and differences
What is our role as organisations working to engage men and boys in gender justice?
